250 Anniversary of the United States - “Patriotism in Print”
As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our nation, we should reflect on what brought us to this point. Our nation had to endure a war lasting more than 8 years, with the result often in doubt. This presentation will focus on how the paper currency, created to finance the war, was used to unite people, encourage support for the war effort, and give hope of a better future. The vignettes used on Continental Currency were truly “Patriotism in Print.” Presented by Leo Shane, member of the Colonial Coin Collectors Club.
